Money Dashboard hires ex-PayPal CEO as chairman

Money Dashboard has appointed ex-PayPal EMEA chief executive Renier Lemmens as its new chairman.

Lemmens is currently a venture partner focusing on FinTech with DN Capital, and has previously served as board member of Revolut, as well as being chief operating officer of Barclays International Retail and Commercial Banking.

With more than 500,000 registered users, Money Dashboard helps users connect to more than 40 banks and institutions through Open Banking. It recently announced partnerships with Nutmeg and Wealthify and has launched integrations with providers including American Express.

The app will soon incorporate payments functionality, enabling users to move money between the accounts they connect to the app, for example to avoid overdraft charges and maximise savings interest rates.

Chief executive Steve Tigar commented: "We're excited to have Renier on board as we prepare to launch our payments service, in addition to a number of other features that will revolutionise the way people organise and grow their money."

Lemmens added: "Steve and the Money Dashboard team have done a fantastic job at building a product that truly helps people master their money, I am delighted to join them on this mission and look forward to helping the company go from strength-to-strength and leverage open banking to help millions of people."

Last August, the Edinburgh-based firm made £4.6 million in a Crowdcube fundraise, using the money to triple the firm's headcount from 20 to 60.
