eToro partners with Amundi to launch equity portfolio with exposure to ‘megatrends’

Trading and investment platform eToro has partnered with asset manager Amundi to launch an equity portfolio aimed at gaining exposure to “mega trends” while maintaining broad exposure to global markets.

The company said it is focusing on “transformative” trends that will “shape the world” over the long-term.

Its Key Themes & Convictions Portfolio is constructed from Amundi’s ETFs and designed for investors seeking opportunities in equity markets.

The majority of the portfolio is a broad equity allocation that aims to capture the opportunities in financial markets based on Amundi’s “strategic and tactical microeconomic views.”

The remaining third of the portfolio is an active selection of ETFs relating to three mega-themes and their sub-themes, identified by Amundi’s investment experts as high-conviction, long-term trends.

These include the environment, factoring in areas such as alternative energy, natural resources and recycling, as well as a technology, including robotics AI and materials technology.

The final long-term trend is social and demographic change, which targets investments around shifts in lifestyle, infrastructure, healthcare and emerging markets.

Gil Shapira, chief investment officer at eToro said that the diversified portfolio is designed for investors who are targeting consistent growth.

“Investing is about more than just tracking the markets, it’s about anticipating what will shape them,” he added. “Partnering with Amundi, we’re giving our users access to a portfolio that follows broad market trends, but also actively positions them at the forefront of themes redefining tomorrow.”

In addition to offering the Key Themes and Convictions Portfolio, eToro said it has added 120 Amundi ETFs to the platform, covering a broad range of asset classes including equities, fixed income and commodities.
