Money Dashboard to triple staff on £4.6m raise

Money Dashboard has made £4.6 million in the biggest FinTech fundraise on Crowdcube this year.

The Edinburgh-based personal finance firm reached its initial target of £1.5 million in just 45 minutes, topping out at £3.6 million with the support of 3,300 crowdfunders. The additional £1 million investment came from existing backer Calculus Capital and Scottish Investment Bank.

The money will be used to triple the firm's headcount from 20 to 60 and to further develop the app.

The company’s free app connects to over 70 financial institutions, letting users view and manage their financial affairs from a single platform. It generates revenue from using anonymised banking data to produce market research and insights on financial behavioural trends.

Launched in 2010, Money Dashboard now serves more than 200,000 customers, and is aiming to reach one million users by 2024.

In May, it partnered with CoinBase to allow users to see their cryptocurrency wallets alongside traditional financial accounts.
