Zopa launches energy switching and comparison service

Digital bank Zopa is now offering app users the chance to compare energy offers.

The feature comes as result of Zopa partnering with Decision Tech, part of the MoneySuperMarket Group.

The service is offered within the Zopa app and is free to use.

Zopa will show customers available energy suppliers alongside how much money they could save by switching.

App users can find individual offers by entering their postcode into the search engine and confirming their current energy price.

It then provides users with a list of available energy providers and the amount of money they could save. Customers choose which provider they would like to switch to within the app.

If customers don’t find an appropriate deal, alerts can also be set up so Zopa can share relevant deals that become available in the future.

Zopa said the whole journey takes just 3 minutes.

Clare Gambardella, chief customer officer at Zopa, said: “People are generally reluctant to switch energy providers, but it is one of the easiest ways to cut down on monthly outgoings.

“We wanted to make it as simple as possible for people to identify how much money they could save on gas and electricity so that they can feel good about their money as they head into 2021.”

She added: “We’re on a mission to show people that simple, good value products are out there in the market to help them save money.”

"Finding the best deals, rates and services available shouldn’t be difficult, that’s why we’re adding more tools to our app that help people gain better control over their finances.”
