Worldline completes buyout of Eurobank Merchant Acquiring

Payment services company Worldline has announced the completion of its buyout of Eurobank Merchant Acquiring (EBMA).

EBMA is a card acquirer which has a 21 per cent share of transaction volumes processed in Greece.

The company manages around 219 million transactions a year, representing a payment volume of about € 7 billion from a 190,000-strong POS network.

The move is an opportunity for Worldline to “strongly expand” its merchant services activities in Greece, said the company.

Worldline will enter long-term commercial partnership with Eurobank as a part of the transaction.

It is aiming to use its banking network as a commercial channel to distribute Worldline and EBMA payment products and services to both physical and online merchants.
