TPBank unveils first video bank branches

TPBank has become the first financial institution in Vietnam to introduce video bank branches, which enable customers to complete banking tasks via an integrated video link.

The bank has worked with Singapore-based FinTech firm Scale360 to develop the solution, which has opened in 12 ‘LiveBank’ locations, and will be expanding to the rest of the FI’s branches in the coming months.

Users are able to open bank accounts, deposit or withdraw money, make loan applications or chat with an advisor through an integrated video. Customers can upload the required documents through an in-built scanner, allowing them to verify their identity and biometrics instantly. Customers can also print out forms for other subscription services.

Diem Wan Qian, head of retail banking at TPBank, said: “TPBank continues to develop its products and services to become a leader in Vietnam’s digital banking. The launch of the LiveBank service is a key factor in our digital strategy. We expect to help improve the customer experience by tailoring the service to the lifestyle of new age customers.”

Neville Molyneux, managing director of Scale360, added: “TPBank has a clear digital strategy approach and Scale360 is delighted to be part of that strategy. Our digital branches offer a connection between the digital world and reality. This is important and is the first step towards the transition to a fully digital bank.”
