Sony launches FinTech Innovation Challenge

Electronics giant Sony is partnering with Matchi on a challenge which asks the global FinTech community to showcase their financial services innovations.

Firms who enter the Sony FinTech Innovation Challenge will compete for the opportunity to work on a proof of concept project within the multi-national conglomerate.

The initiative is calling for ‘market-ready’ solutions in six categories: financial services for travellers; client engagement for the underbanked/underinvested; super smart authentication; education/financial management services for youth; web bank interaction for high net worth individuals; and entertainment based on blockchain.

Entries close on 17 February and must be submitted via the Matchi platform. The highest ranking innovation in each of the six categories will present their solution to a judging panel from Sony on 17 March, when one ultimate winner will be decided.
