Sidetrade opens Birmingham tech hub

Artificial intelligence (AI) platform Sidetrade has announced the opening of a new Tech Hub in the UK, with a projected investment of £30 million and plans for 70 new tech jobs in the group.

The new office in Birmingham will be home to some of the new roles focused on AI technology and product development, bringing Sidetrade’s total tech headcount to more than 150. The company’s sixth site will be led by chief technology officer Mark Sheldon, who is from the city.

He commented: “Our investment and job creation send a strong message that Sidetrade is set for rapid growth with a very capable and innovative team of data scientists, developers, and engineers at the heart of what we do.”

The wider investment will be spread out over the next give years, aimed at research and development, tech skills and innovation.

In 2012, the French firm chose London as a springboard for international growth and has since then won UK clients like Samworth Brothers, Fremantle Media, Inmarsat, Hearst Magazines and Atkins.

Sidetrade uses AI technology to make recommendations at every stage of the sales cycle, from prospecting to payment collection, using data to focus in on leads for marketing and sales teams.
