Revolut launches banking services in 10 new European markets

Revolut has opened its banking services to customers in 10 new European markets.

The FinTech said that customers in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Latvia,
Malta, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia who upgrade to Revolut Bank will now have their deposits protected under the deposit guarantee scheme.

The move comes after Revolut operationalised its specialised banking licence the 10 countries.

Customers will be able to upgrade to Revolut Bank within the app, with deposit accounts now available alongside Revolut’s existing products and services.

Last year, Revolut launched its specialised bank in Poland and Lithuania,
and started offering credit products in both countries.

Virgilijus Mirkės, chief executive officer of Revolut Bank, said: “Revolut is now the fastest growing FinTech company in Europe because we put the customer at the heart of everything that we do.

“Launching the bank in ten new European markets will provide a greater level of
security and confidence for our customers, and will enable us to launch a host of new products and services in the near future.”
