InsurTech ThingCo chosen for virtual trade mission

ThingCo has been selected by the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) as one of ten UK InsurTechs to attend the 2020 Virtual InsurTech Mission.

The mission to San Francisco will take place this week, letting ThingCo share its expertise in deploying AI-driven voice in real-time through its telematics device, with US regulators, venture capitalists and other industry players.

It is also aimed at offering participating technology companies insight into overcoming barriers to doing business in the US and will involve the opportunity to attend the InsureTech Connect ITC Global virtual conference.

ThingCo has built a fully-encrypted telematics platform using the latest Amazon Web Services Internet of Things serverless technology.

Jonathon Valentine, chief technology officer of ThingCo, said: "This gives ThingCo a fantastic opportunity to connect with US investors, carriers and regulators to show them just how far we have been able to develop telematics in the UK, the inroads we are making into China and explore opportunities to develop the business stateside.”

He added that the mission would help to “put the UK firmly on the map as one of the world’s prime InsurTech innovation hubs.”
