The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has signed an £11.5 million contract with enterprise cloud provider Workday to provide a platform for its HR, finance and procurement functions.
The five-year deal will see the financial regulator use the company’s enterprise resource planning system by the end of March next year, aligning with its current data centre contract ending.
The FCA’s strategy is to move towards the increased use of cloud systems, following plans laid out early last year for a procurement framework to support its technology programmes and projects.
The deal was made under the Crown Commercial Service’s resource procurement framework.
Workday has so far had a bigger presence in the private rather than public sector, with its Cloud Platform providing the basis for developing apps around HR and finance.
