ABN Amro’s Tikkie app rolls out new bill splitting feature

ABN Amro has announced the roll out of a new feature on its Tikkie App which allows multiple users to track and settle costs incurred as a group.

Tikkie is a platform that allows users to send payment requests via WhatsApp without needing to know the other person’s account number.

The new feature, called ‘Groepie’, lets members of a group share their costs.

Users can invite members in a number of ways, including via WhatsApp.

“With Groepie, it’s now possible to track and settle shared costs – an incredibly useful feature that many of our users have been calling for,” said head of sales and business development at Tikkie, Rogier Brinker. “This is borne out by Tikkie’s own data.

"More and more of the payment descriptions refer to things like ‘weekend away’, ‘baby shower’, ‘groceries’ and so on. From now on those costs can be settled very simply in Groepie.”
