Santander and Pemberton launch supply chain solutions business

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) has partnered with private credit manager Pemberton Asset Management to launch a company focused on providing large and mid-size organisations with supply chain inventory solutions.

Invensa aims to increase supply chain resilience and has been launched in response to the supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and a changing macroeconomic environment.

The new company will leverage Santander’s expertise in trade finance to support a shift from “just-in-time" to “just-in-case" supply chain models.

Santander CIB stated that the move will enable multinational companies to operate efficiently using flexible inventory financing and management on a large scale.

“As a leading bank in the trade and working capital space, it is important for us to be able to offer the full range of solutions to manage the end-to-end working capital of our clients, of which inventory is a very relevant part,” said Jose M. Linares, global head of Santander CIB and senior executive vice president at Santander.

“We have been facilitating third-party leading inventory finance solutions to our clients for more than 10 years, and this partnership with Pemberton enables us to serve our clients as a long-term partner and deliver an increasingly business-critical solution."
