Revolut feature to educate users about crypto tech

Revolut has launched a feature designed to encourage users to learn about the technology underpinning cryptocurrencies, rather than relying on “hype and fomo”.

The new feature, called Crypto Collections, groups tokens available on the bank’s app based on the underlying technology and use case for each cryptocurrency. Customers can buy an entire collection or spread their investment across the collection, with a minimum purchase of £1 for standard users.

Examples of collections on offer are Metaverse, NFTs, Layer 1 and DeFi.

The feature builds on the ‘learn and earn’ courses that Revolut launched in 2022 to help people with their finances.

”With Collections, users can discover new tokens based on the underlying technology and understand more about what the protocol behind the token does,” said Narmin Ibadullayeva, product owner crypto at Revolut. “It also allows users to select the areas they are interested in and spread their investment over a number of tokens, instead of having to pick individual tokens.”

Revolut recently launched a course to make cryptocurrency more accessible to customers. Launched in partnership with crypto platform Polkadot, users can learn about staking and are given the opportunity to collect DOT tokens – the native token of Polkadot – by staking directly in the Revolut app.
