Matthew Haines swaps Barclays for Santander

Matthew Haines has joined Santander UK as product owner after working at Barclays for almost two decades.

Making the announcement on LinkedIn, Haines said that his new role would give him the opportunity to contribute to the “ever-evolving landscape” of payments and create better experiences for customers.

He has held a variety of roles at Barclays, where he started working in 2006. Most recently Haines was head of product and partnerships – tokenisation, mobile and new payments, where he focused on product management, leadership and transformation.

Prior to this, Haines was senior product and proposition manager – digital consumer payments at Barclays. He was also responsible for customer migration to the Pingit app, Barclays’ mobile payments service, in 2019.

“Here's to new beginnings, the next chapter, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead! Grateful for the growth opportunity and excited for what the future holds,” Haines said. “Life is a journey, and I'm thrilled to embark on the next adventure.”
