ClearBank has appointed Mark Fairless as chief financial officer (CFO), subject to regulatory approval.
Fairless joins the FinTech from M&G, where he worked as CFO of the M&G Heritage Business. He has over 17 years’ experience in financial services and has held roles at Santander UK and Barclays Investment Bank.
At ClearBank Fairless will lead the finance team and lead the growth of the company in Europe and internationally. Additionally, he will be an executive director on Clearbank’s UK board and a member of the executive committee.
Fairless replaces interim CFO, Glen Lucken, who stepped into the role after James Hopkinson left the company in June 2022.
ClearBank recently reached profitability, generating more than £45 million in revenue. Following the appointment of Fairless, the FinTech said it plans to introduce a range of new products as well as expand into markets in Europe and internationally.
Commenting on the news Charles McManus, chief executive at ClearBank, said: “Mark joins us at a truly exciting time for ClearBank, as we build on the achievements of 2022 and make progress on our growth ambitions for 2023. Mark will bring a wealth of global knowledge, expertise, and experience to the ClearBank team that will be critical to our future success.”
