Handelsbanken partners with Tietoevry Banking for new technology

Handelsbanken Norway has partnered with Tietoevry Banking, a digital banking technology firm, to improve a number of services including wealth management, financial crime and payments.

The deal will last for five years and builds on a previous agreement. Under the new partnership, Handelsbanken will migrate to a new modular banking platform which is based on high-level APIs that the bank can integrate with a variety of new solutions.

Handelsbanken added that the new platform will speed up the time to market for new services as well as providing greater efficiency and scalability.

Handelsbanken is one of the largest banks in Norway with around 38 branches across the country. It claims it has more satisfied customers than comparable banks and is one of the most cost-effective listed banks in Europe.

"This is a large and important agreement that gives us predictability in both solutions and systems for the future, and we are very pleased that we now have a new agreement in place," said Øystein Aulin, Director of Technology and Development at Handelsbanken.
