Current closes $3.6 million funding round

US banking startup Current has announced the closure of a $3.6 million seed funding round, led by original backers Expa and Human Ventures, as well as Future Perfect Ventures.

The funding will allow Current to further develop its banking and payments platform, which can be accessed through mobile, tablet and desktop devices.

According to Current, its platform will leverage fraud prevention and encryption systems to safeguard users’ financial information and assets. The platform also allows customers to connect their bank accounts to their preferred social media platforms, such as Kik, Facebook Messenger and iMessage, to conduct payment transactions.

In addition, the startup will be releasing a new solution later this month which provides collaborative and secure management solutions for families.
