Barclays appoints new EMEA co-head of equity capital markets

Barclays Investment Bank has announced the appointment of Foruhar Madjlessi as its new co-head of equity capital markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Madjlessi, who will work alongside fellow EMEA co-head Lawrence Jamieson, joins Barclays from Instone Real Estate Group, where he has been working as chief financial officer for the past five years.

Prior to this, he spent 12 years at Deutsche Bank where he was head of ECM for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Madjlessi started his banking career at UBS and Merrill Lynch where he held various roles across corporate finance and ECM, based in Frankfurt, London and New York.

Partnering with Lawrence as EMEA co-head, as well as Omar Alghanim, head of EMEA equity-linked & financing solutions, his appointment underscores our commitment to deliver the full breadth of Barclays’ equity capability to our Banking clients in EMEA," said Tom Swerling, global head of equity capital markets.
