Personal finance first for Apple Watch

True Potential Investments has launched its app on the Apple Watch, in what the firm says is a first for the personal finance sector in the UK.

The app allows users to invest and save directly from their smartwatch, and is aimed at the mass market of non-expert investors and savers.

People can select funds and set financial goals and risk levels by accessing detailed information from the device, such as performance and volatility. Users can also track their progress, see a real-time portfolio valuation, and view their savings against their goals and top up to close any gap.

The platform also includes an impulseSave feature, which enables users to tap a button on the watch screen and add money – which can be as little as £1 – to savings, pensions and investment accounts.

Daniel Harrison, managing partner at True Potential Investments, said: “True Potential has launched another first with this leading-edge technology that can change the way people save and invest. With technology that people use every day, such as mobile phones and now smartwatches, we can turn spenders into savers and get people into the habit of investing. Technology such as ours proves that investing can be fast, easy and even fun.”
