RMS Group rebrands to Pivotal, launches digital payments

Cash transit company RMS Group is to expand into digital payment services as part of a major rebranding strategy.

RMS Group, which provides cash collections, deliveries and ATM services - including Metro Bank and Travelex since launching in Ireland in 2005 - is to change its name to Pivotal as it becomes the first cash in transit company to offer merchant services, process card and BACs payments.

The group, which is positioning Pivotal as a ‘challenger brand’, is aiming to extend merchant services and support for cash and card transactions to its 1,700 existing customers, as well as retailers and small businesses. It is also enhancing its digital platform to enable customers to access services from their mobile phone.

The changes are part of its long-term growth plans, which include opening new centres in Bristol, the South East, Yorkshire and Scotland.

Tony McAleenan, the company’s managing director, said: “Pivotal will play a key role in helping businesses to manage the increasingly wide range of payment options while continuing to support access to cash, which is vital to ensure we can deal with a wide range of payment methods, and ensure customer choice and financial inclusion within the wider community.”
