Nationwide innovation leads start own venture

The two heads of Nationwide’s Innovation Lab, Daryl Wilkinson and Jake Chambers, are leaving the building society to found their own innovation services company.

Dubbed Lab12, the pair’s new venture is scheduled to launch in January 2016, with Wilkinson announcing on Twitter that he is leaving Nationwide on 31 December. The new firm will be advising organisations on how to develop strategies, resources and skills for the ‘Innovation Age’.

The duo wrote on Lab12’s new website: “Our achievements at Nationwide have left us wanting to do more. An intense motivation to make a difference – beyond the boundaries of permanent employment with a single organisation – drove us to act, and so we will be leaving Nationwide to open Lab12 in January.

“Lab12 will deliver ambitious strategy and the methods to help organisations achieve it. We will form innovative ideas, shape them into solid propositions and bring them to life by turning them into fantastic experiences that drive growth.”
