Klarna makes ChatGPT available to employees

Buy now pay later (BNPL) provider Klarna has given around 2,500 employees access to ChatGPT.

The company said this will improve its security and data analysis activities.

Co-founder and chief executive of Klarna Sebastian Siemiatkowski said he recognised the power of the AI-powered software, which is owned by OpenAI.

Klarna claims it is the first FinTech in the world to use ChatGPT and the first company in Europe in any sector to launch the ChatGPT plugin.

Around half of Klarna’s company now use the software daily for a wide range of functions, such as AI-powered shopping recommendations and streamlining customer service.

Klarna has also developed its own AI-based tools and features on its platform, with the Klarna app using AI product recommendations to enable customers to find new items.

“At Klarna, we are constantly seeking innovative solutions to strengthen our employees’ abilities and enable them to best serve our 150 million active users across the globe,” Siemiatkowski said. “With the integration of ChatGPT Enterprise, we’re aimed at achieving a new level of employee empowerment, enhancing both our team’s performance and the customer experience.”
