Flutterwave has announced an agreement to expand its relationship with Microsoft to build its next generation platform on Microsoft Azure.
The African payments company said the agreement reflects its “commitment to give businesses and individuals access to global-grade services across all of Africa and drive digital transformation around the world”.
Azure is expected to play a role in facilitating more secure payments processed on Flutterwave’s platform, with all the company’s core products set to transition to Microsoft’s Azure cloud.
“As we manage high-volume payment processing, particularly during peak periods, the robustness, reliability, and scalability of Microsoft Azure become critical,” said Flutterwave founder and chief executive Olugbenga Agboola.
Noting that deepening its relationship with Microsoft was a logical step, Agboola added: “It means Flutterwave will continue to drive the transformation of global commerce, taking full advantage of the diverse and expanding range of services offered by Microsoft.”
Mike Gaal, general manager at Microsoft, said that it is excited to help Flutterwave “fuel further growth” by expanding its use of Microsoft Azure.
