ClearScore launches in New Zealand

UK credit score business ClearScore has launched in New Zealand.

The FinTech, which provides free credit scores and reporting, has grown its customer base to 19 million users worldwide since its launch in 2015, having expanded to South Africa in 2017 and Australia in 2020.

The company also launched in Canada last year.

The latest move comes after ClearScore announced in March that it had partnered with Australasian credit bureau illion as part of plans to give Australian users enhanced credit data to add to that already available via Experian.

“We are excited to bring our clear and calm approach to financial wellbeing to New Zealand, helping people all over the country make informed financial decisions," said Stephen Smyth, chief international officer, ClearScore Group. “ClearScore has been expanding rapidly in Australia, and now we are set to see similar growth in New Zealand built on the partnership that we have established with illion."

In January, ClearScore announced the launch of a new B2B Open Banking business.

It said that the new business would allow banks and credit card providers to speed up consumer bank data into mainstream lending.
