Trussle has appointed Todd Zino as its new chief technical officer, among several new hires.
The online mortgage broker explained that Zino’s remit is to drive innovation and revolutionise Trussle’s product. Most recently, he was the co-founder and chief technology officer of credit card FinTech Wallaby Financial, leading the startup through mergers with Bankrate, Red Ventures and ZPG, with him ultimately running product teams in Los Angeles, Austin and London.
Zino commented: “We’re currently hiring a world-class engineering team to enable us the real-time capability to verify banking, property and identity through our digital experience.”
His appointment comes as Trussle revealed a spike in hiring since the start of 2019, with headcount rising by 48 per cent to 120 staff members. This growth, which is set to continue in 2020, is part of the plan to increase the product offering and meet ambitious growth plans.
The London-based firm also confirmed the appointment of Sebastian Anthony as head of organic growth, alongside product manager Terry Lee.
Anthony previously led content strategy at Zoopla and uSwitch, while Lee was a product manager in the acquisition and retention team of sports streaming service DAZN.
These hires follow other significant appointments this year, including veteran banker Simon Williams, who was made Trussle’s chairman in April.
Ishaan Malhi, chief executive and founder of Trussle, added: “Our culture remains to be our competitive advantage, and by hiring talent that aligns with our values, we are continuing to work towards making mortgages fairer.
“We’ve got incredibly exciting growth plans and we need to bring in the very best talent to help make those plans a reality – 2020 is going to be a huge year at Trussle and we look forward to seeing more brilliant people come through our doors.”
