Schroders expands team with focus on clients’ relationships

Schroders has announced four key senior promotions and appointments to enhance its client-focused strategy and relationships.

The asset manager has promoted Karine Szenberg, currently global head of client group, to executive vice president. Simultaneously, Matt Oomen joins as global head of client group. In her expanded role, Szenberg will drive the firm's strategic initiatives, collaborating closely with Schroders' joint ventures and associates to develop new partnerships.

Oomen joins from US-based BNY Investments, where he served as global head of distribution for nearly eight years, overseeing product strategy, marketing and sales across 30 countries. He will report to group chief executive Richard Oldfield, with responsibility for business growth and strengthening client relationships.

Before BNY's merger with Mellon, Oomen held positions at Mellon Global Investment, accumulating 23 years' combined experience at both organisations. His career began at insurance provider Zurich Financial Services. Both executives will join Schroders' group executive committee.

The firm has also promoted Gopi Mirchandani from head of strategy for Asia Pacific to head of client group in Asia. Additionally, Jason Yu moves from his position as head of multi-asset and fixed income management for Asia to become country head for Hong Kong, pending regulatory approval.

Chief executive Oldfield said: "These changes integrate our teams more closely with clients to collaborate, innovate and develop solutions for their future needs. We remain committed to leading wealth management through partnership and results."

He added: "This is the ideal time to strengthen our client relationship teams. Karine, Matt, Gopi and Jason will enhance our commitment to supporting clients at all levels with fresh thinking and innovation."
