Experian is launching what it says is the UK’s first credit score app within ChatGPT.
The data and technology company said the tool uses aggregated and anonymised Experian Credit Score data to show how typical scores compare across UK postcode areas and age groups.
The new app allows users to see local and demographic score averages, which Experian said will provide helpful context and support everyday financial education.
Experian said the partnership with ChatGPT launches at a time when more people are turning to AI for quick, clear answers on financial topics.
The tool also gives users a simple route to sign up for Experian’s services to check their personalised credit score and access further insights.
By embedding credit score insights directly into ChatGPT, Experian said it is enabling more people to engage with financial information in a familiar and accessible environment.
With 18–34-year-olds making up more than half of ChatGPT’s user base yet among the least likely to have checked their credit score, Experian said the app creates a new pathway into financial education for younger consumers.
“By bringing the power of Experian’s trusted data into a leading AI platform, we’re giving people a quick and simple way to explore how their credit score compares locally and by age – making it easier for them to sign up to Experian to discover their personalised score and insights,” said Edu Castro, managing director of Experian consumer services UK&I. “This launch is only the first step, it’s an important milestone in our strategy to provide secure, intelligent experiences wherever people choose to engage with us, and a significant step in bringing the UK’s most trusted credit score to more people.”
In February, Experian announced the launch of its auto insurance comparison platform on ChatGPT, bringing its services to “millions” of consumers in the US who use OpenAI’s products.
The Experian Insurance Marketplace app utilises conversational technology to simplify financial choices and create a more intuitive customer experience.
Finding the right auto insurance policy has traditionally involved lengthy forms, multiple websites and unclear comparisons, which Experian said can result in consumers spending hours navigating options without confidence that they have secured the best rate.
Experian said the app aims to turn this process into a streamlined conversation.
