InsurTech startup Buzzmove raises £6 million

InsurTech startup Buzzmove has announced the closing of a £6 million super-seed round led by White Mountains Insurance Group. Launched in 2014, Buzzmove is an online price comparison and booking platform for the moving and home insurance industry.

The firm gets in touch with consumers when they are likely to modify or replace existing insurance policies, and leverages this access to gather accurate home and household contents data. Buzzmove allows users to inventory their belongings easily through a mobile app, and provides professional surveying software to home moving companies in the form of a SaaS platform.

Buzzmove’s CEO Rebecca Downing explained: “Buzzmove is providing a new marketplace that enables customers to gather and then capitalise on accurate data about their home and household contents. BUZZMOVE aspires to be to home and household contents insurance, what telematics is to motor insurance, enabling truly personalised home and household contents-based insurance policies.”

The new investment follows the startup’s participation in Startupbootcamp InsurTech – an accelerator programme focused on insurance technology.
