Bank of Ireland to recruit for 100 tech roles

The Bank of Ireland is set to recruit for 100 tech roles for its in-house tech team.

The new hubs are set to be in Swords, Blanchardstown, Santry, Newlands Cross, Gorey, Mullingar, Newbridge, Dundalk, Northern Cross, Balbriggan, and Naas.

The new hires will include technical architects, software developers, engineers, specialised project managers, scrum masters, and data analysts.

The news comes after the bank recruited 130 people into similar technology roles in 2021.

The new hires will be made in line with the bank’s flexible-working policy, meaning applicants can be based anywhere in Ireland, where it has 11 remote-working hubs.

"Banking is changing fast,” said Eimear Harty, HR director, group technology and customer solutions. “Last year alone, our mobile app log-ins grew 63 per cent compared with 2020.”

“We processed 244 million contactless transactions, up 43 per cent. And 94 per cent of our everyday product applications are now digitised.”

She added: "These new roles will further support our progress and momentum as we build a world-class, diverse technology team."
