Revolut launches smart subscriptions feature

Revolut has launched a smart subscriptions feature in its banking app.

The digital challenger said this will enable users to track all subscriptions, Direct Debits and recurring payments in one place.

Customers will be notified automatically when a scheduled payment is due to go out, or when they don’t have enough money to pay their subscription.

Users can also see a breakdown of how much they are spending on each scheduled payment, and with each individual merchant, and quickly block payments without needing
to go via merchants’ websites.

If they change their mind, they can unblock their subscription again in the app.

A statement from Revolut said that the feature has been rolled out as part of a suite of new products to give customers more control and full visibility of their spending, including Open Banking, enhanced budgeting and useful analytics tools.

It added that features, including alerts for the end of a trial period on subscriptions, will be added In the near future.
