JPMorgan Chase has launched the J.P. Morgan Personal Investing brand in the UK, retiring Nutmeg as the US bank moves to deepen its retail wealth presence and tie services more closely to the Chase UK app.
From today, former Nutmeg clients can access their investments through J.P. Morgan Personal Investing’s app and website, with banking customers able to view portfolios alongside current accounts, credit card spending and savings pots. The firm said the offering would combine managed investments, pensions and ISAs with new digital planning tools and an expanded service model.
A phased rollout will introduce a Wealth Planner feature in the coming weeks, giving clients a consolidated view of their total wealth alongside tailored guidance on progressing towards financial goals. According to the company, users can explore the potential impact of decisions before acting, customising strategies with greater confidence.
From November 2025, clients with over £250,000 invested will gain access to dedicated relationship managers for one-to-one support, complementing free guidance for all users and an existing paid restricted advice service. The firm will also launch a full DIY investment platform in 2026, allowing investors to buy and sell shares, bonds, funds and other asset classes.
Explaining the strategic shift, Mark O’Donovan, chief executive of international consumer banking at JPMorgan Chase, said: “Consumers in the UK are world-leading in adopting digital financial services, and today is an important next step in the evolution of our offering in the UK market, leveraging JPMorgan expertise and heritage to provide consumers with exceptional investment products and services. J.P. Morgan Personal Investing will give retail customers in the U.K. the ability to bank with Chase and invest with JPMorgan.”
Nutmeg, launched in 2012 and acquired by JPMorgan Chase in 2021, has grown its assets under management from £3.5 billion at acquisition to over £8.5 billion and increased its investor base from 140,000 to more than 265,000, according to the firm. The transition follows a period of integration with Chase UK, with JPMorgan Chase stating it is now entering a new growth phase under the J.P. Morgan Personal Investing banner.
The company said existing Nutmeg portfolios, including Smart Alpha strategies powered by JPMorgan Asset Management, will remain available within the new brand. Clients will see Nutmeg’s app and dashboard transition through November, with branding updates and features introduced over the coming months.
