Spiky performance available via Hedgehogs.net

Hedgehogs.net, the social networking site for fund managers, is partnering with Kaazing to deliver streaming market data and transactional messaging to its users through HTML5 WebSocket technology.

Using Kaazing’s WebSocket Gateway, Hedgehogs.net will be able to provide its customers with complete browser support, while improving data delivery and real-time performance.

The social networking site, aimed at small boutique investment houses that cannot afford expensive news feeds and analyst reports, is offering a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) channel attempting to deliver enterprise-class infrastructure capabilities to highly skilled but tiny boutique operations. By implementing Kaazing’s technology solution, and embracing the open standards it uses, Hedgehogs.net is effectively providing a hosted open market for both contributors and subscribers.

The WebSocket Gateway facilitates full-duplex bi-directional web communication, making it possible to seamlessly and reliably extend any TCP-based messaging protocol to the Web without buying expensive new hardware. It also enables Hedgehogs.net to seamlessly navigate firewalls and proxies to make service deployment much easier and improve customer satisfaction.

“We chose Kaazing for their technical leadership, flexible architecture and commitment to the HTML5 open standard,” explains Ken Yeadon, CEO of Hedgehogs.net. “The rapid integration with our online operation demonstrates Kaazing’s superior architecture. Their technology has delivered low latency, high performance data delivery and scalability compared with numerous other solutions. Furthermore, their dedication and attentiveness to our needs made them a clear choice when evaluating a technology for this new social market place.”
