mBank rolls out new mobile app

Poland’s mBank has launched a new mobile app for Android and iOS devices, which has fingerprint login capabilities and a display of clients’ spending rates to help users control their budgets.

Android Pay mobile payments are one of the key functionalities of the new app, marking the first time in Europe that adding a card to Android Pay takes place at the level of the bank’s app – meaning that customers do not need to download a separate Android Pay app.

The app also offers mobile authorisation to confirm transactions made via the system, while an enhanced notification process allows users to configure push messages to suit their needs.

Almost 20 per cent of all transfers are made at mBank directly via the mobile app. Furthermore, 30 per cent of travel insurance policies are sold through the mobile channel. Every fifth cash loan was granted via the app.

Robert Hibner, director of mBank’s electronic channel department, said: “We have analysed opinions of almost 100 thousand users. We have taken into account app stores’ ratings, online reviews and comments of users. All this to create a mobile app that meets each and every expectation of its user.”

Cezary Stypułkowski, CEO of mBank, added: “We are an icon of mobility not only due to innovative solutions that we offer, but first and foremost thanks to our clients who are more and more willing to use our app. Our priority is further development of mobile tools and processes so that all important errands can be run by smartphone.”
