V.me by Visa hooks another big fish

Nationwide Building Society will be offering the V.me by Visa digital wallet in 2013. Launch partner RBS is currently hosting a trial service and Visa says that it has commitments from banks representing 80 per cent of UK consumers.

Mariano Dima, chief marketing officer, Visa Europe, says that this latest announcement is "another major step towards our goal of seeing a third of European consumers using V.me by Visa in 2020. This year, we also launch V.me in Spain. And in France. And Poland, and the Republic of Ireland. It’s a perfect illustration of our total commitment to providing Europe with a secure and simple online payments solution. As other markets are added to this list, we’re sure the demand for the V.me by Visa service will only increase, and that we will soon wonder how the industry ever functioned without it."
