Digital challenger bank Starling has introduced a new Settle Up feature to its mobile app, designed to make it easier for friends and family to send payments to each other.
There is now a Settle Up option in the Pay section of the bank’s mobile app, which prompts customers to set up their Settle Up page. Whenever a customer wants to request money, they simply send a link to their friends or family.
If they are a Starling customer, they will be able to pay directly into your Starling account in a couple of taps from the app. If they do not bank with Starling, they will be taken to a dedicated page to pay using any UK debit card.
Customers will be limited to receiving £250 each day via a UK debit card, while the minimum amount customers can request and pay is £1.
The bank said in a blog post: “In a time of such vast technological bounty, the payback process shouldn’t be this convoluted, awkward and exhaustingly administrative – in fact, we felt so strongly about it that we decided to build a feature to replace it entirely!”
