Shriram Group rolls out Fortinet tech

Indian asset financing outfit, Shriram Group, has deployed Fortinet solutions to help secure its datacentres and 400 branch offices.

Several of the Group’s branches are based in cities where connectivity is not always feasible, making security and control over applications difficult to manage due to the size of the data needing to cross the network. To overcome these issues, a solution was required that could not only offer a high performance firewall, but could reduce latency while still allowing users access to applications. Fortinet were able to offer a FortiGate solution that provided high levels of security whilst at the same time a way for data to cross the network with reduced latency issues, as well as a tool that would control user access while still keeping it secure.

“We needed high performance firewalls to reduce latency while enabling our users to access applications,” says Sendil Kumar, AVP – IT at Shriram Value Services, Shriram Group's IT and ITES division. “The FortiGate appliances, which included high throughput at the data center and multi-functionality at the branch level, suited our needs perfectly. The icing on the cake was FortiClient, a simple yet powerful tool, which we effectively use to control user access and secure endpoints.”
