‘Yaap’ has been announced as the new digital services brand in the joint venture between Santander, CaxiaBank and Telefonica.
A product of the first European alliance between banks and telecommunication operators, Yaap’s main objective will be to create “open innovative digital services that simplify people’s daily lives”.
Two new offers will come to the Spanish market this year – Yaap Shopping and Yaap Money.
Yaap Shopping will be a virtual showroom where retailers can interact with hundreds of thousands of potential customers. Yaap says that it will offer solutions for small businesses “to help them to modernise and add digital elements to their commercial activity” – such as discounts, offers and loyalty programmes.
Meanwhile, Yaap Money will be a peer-to-peer service, enabling people to send money from one mobile device to another.
Both Yaap Shopping and Yaap Money will be open platforms available to all users, regardless of their bank or mobile operator.
