SWIFT launches information and analysis centre

SWIFT has announced the launch of its Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (ISAC), in a move designed to facilitate greater cyber security threat intelligence.

The ISAC portal stores all the information that SWIFT has been sharing with the community through its knowledge base on swift.com. The information will now be available on ISAC in an easily readable and searchable format, aligned with standardised templates.

This information includes malware details such as file hashes and YARA rules, Indicators of Compromise, as well as details on the Modus Operandi used by the cyber criminals. The information, which is particularly relevant to SWIFT customers, can also be downloaded as PDF reports or as machine-readable files.

SWIFT hopes that the introduction of ISAC will facilitate the community’s access to actionable cyber security threat intelligence, enabling the community to better defend itself against future attacks.

Stephen Gilderdale, head of Customer Security Programme at SWIFT, commented: “Community-wide information sharing is a key focus of SWIFT’s Customer Security Programme. We assist the community by undertaking forensic investigations into attempted breaches of customers’ local infrastructure, and we share related intelligence back to the community in order to help prevent future incidences of compromise in customers’ local environments.

“We urge all SWIFT users to make use of the information provided via the SWIFT ISAC portal as part of their ongoing cyber risk management.”
