Braintree and PayPal are launching their One Touch mobile payments feature in several new countries, including the UK.
The US saw the first general availability of One Touch back in September, and today’s roll-out includes Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
The solution allows PayPal account holders to make in-app purchases with one touch of their mobile screen. It removes the need for customers to log in with usernames and passwords each time they make a mobile payment to a merchant.
Available for users of both iOS on Android handsets, merchants can integrate One Touch via Braintree’s v.zero SDK platform.
Klas Back, general manager of international and payment strategy at Braintree, said: “With One Touch, people can pay across their favourite apps in a single touch across platforms, eliminating the need for usernames and passwords each time you pay, while maintaining the trust and security that Braintree and PayPal have long been known for.
“One Touch gives consumers a faster and safer mobile buying experience, and gives merchants the benefit of reduced shopping cart abandonment and increased sales.”
