Nordea Bank recruited the help of The Robotics Centre of Excellence (RCoE) to handle the large number of requests resulting from the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The bank used Robotics Process Automation (RPA) to handle the customer data requests and to implement the complex GDPR project in a matter of weeks, instead of months. Process descriptions and IT applications were mapped in record time, while the RCoE configured the robots to handle the GDPR requests. The result was cutting down the manual human processes from hours to minutes.
The automation enables Nordea to handle a significant number of GDPR customer requests without the need to engage or hire resources.
Agnieszka Belowska Gosławska, head of robotics at Nordea, said: “This project was highly prioritised by the Robotics Centre of Excellence since the potential regulatory and reputational risks for the bank were tremendous. I am proud of how we together could pull this off on such short notice.”
