Nordea targets simpler e-commerce payments

Nordic bank Nordea has launched a new payment solution called Nordea Connect to improve the online buying experience for both consumers and merchants.

Nordea Connect has been designed to provide a simple user-friendly way to complete and host payments. Consumers are able to choose the payment method they desire: Swish, Siirto, ePayments (Finland), while all major bankcards are also accepted.

The platform saves customer payment information to make it more likely for repeat purchases to be made at the same person, with the entire process being handled by the bank.

Connect also makes it easy for merchants to have all of the payments they receive sent directly to their Nordea account, with added simplified administration to provide a convenient way to manage tasks such as customer refunds.

The solution has initially been launched in Sweden and Finland, with roll-outs in both Denmark and Norway planned for later this year. The bank also plans to add an analytics tool to the platform in the coming months, enabling merchants to see the spending patterns of their customers and identify opportunities for growth.
