Monitise 3rd fastest growing UK tech company

Monitise has ranked number three in the 2012 Deloitte Technology Fast 50. Positions are based on percentage revenue growth over five years. The m-banking outfit grew 2,875 per cent during this period.

Group chief executive Alastair Lukies attributes this success to its network approach to mobile money and the ongoing support received from its strategic partners, including Visa Europe, Visa Inc. RBS Group and FIS, as well as government bodies like UK Trade & Investment.

“We are delighted to be recognised as the UK’s third fastest growing technology company and to be ranked in the list for the second year running. We have had tremendous support from our partners and the government to help us grow on a global scale and sustain our revenue growth over the past five years,” he says. “We are at the foothills of the Pyrenees when it comes to the mobile money opportunity, and Monitise is perfectly positioned at the heart of the connected and evolving global mobile money ecosystem. We have a strong, energetic team of experts who are passionate about what we do and together we are best placed to capitalise on the dynamic nature and fast growth of the space.”

This year’s Deloitte Technology Fast 50 highlights the dominance of London, with six of the top ten companies coming from the capital. Overall, technology companies from London make up 42 per cent of the ranking and 79 per cent of the revenue for the winning 50 was generated by companies from the city.
