L&C partners with Maindec

London & Country Mortgages (L&C) has selected Maindec for business-critical maintenance support of its HP EVA 4100 SAN storage systems.

The £10,000 contract provides L&C with 24/7, four hour break/fix response and competitive rates on new hardware where an upgrade is absolutely essential. The HP EVA storage systems were originally supported by HP directly through a reseller. However, following the expiry of the initial warranty, L&C took the decision to partner with Maindec.

Remo Del Greco, Head of IT at L&C, comments: “The appointment of Maindec was largely driven by their ability to understand our specific business needs, combined with the fact that they are experts in HP hardware maintenance and they can save us money. We had previously been spending thousands of pounds on HP hardware procurement through a reseller. By outsourcing our HP hardware maintenance requirements to Maindec, we now have a more cost-effective maintenance contract that enables us to extend the life of our hardware considerably.”

He adds: “As a business L&C is trying to minimise the amount of new hardware we have to procure and instead we are looking to upgrade and maintain the equipment we already own. Maindec is in a position to advise us on what hardware needs replacing and what can be upgraded and maintained. Furthermore, when we do need to invest in new hardware we can do this through Maindec directly, which saves us a considerable amount of money as their prices are extremely competitive.”
