HSBC finally unveils mobile app

HSBC has launched its long awaited personal banking iPhone app.

The Fast Balance iPhone app enables customers to obtain details of their current account balance and last six transactions. An Android version is in the works.

Developed by Monitise, which has a three year development deal with HSBC, it also lets customers top up their pre-paid mobile phones. Limited functionality, then, but it is at least a start. An app for HSBC Business Banking customers was made available last year, but until now there hasn't been an offering for personal banking clients.
