Curve eyes European expansion

Curve has announced plans to expand internationally by opening six offices across Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Poland.

The FinTech startup, which lets users combine their credit and debit cards into one card and smart app, has also appointed Alaister Mortlock as its head of talent. Previously at LinkedIn and Centrica, he will manage the talent acquisition for Curve.

His team will begin a Europe-wide recruitment drive to attract talent across multiple disciplines in several hubs, with the intention to scale up Curve’s hiring globally throughout 2019 and 2020. Mortlock is currently hiring six country managers for the expansion.

Shachar Bialick, founder and chief executive of Curve, said: “Maintaining a positive work environment will be instrumental in helping us to export our brand to a wider customer base, as we invest in a strong and committed team that can deliver the services and support that users expect from us.”

One of the UK’s fastest growing FinTech firms, London-based Curve now has half a million active users and 30 per cent month-on-month growth since its launch out of Beta in 2018. Over £500 million has gone through the platform to-date.
