Spain’s CaixaBank has revamped its mobile banking app to include voice command capabilities.
The new service will allow users to make balance enquiries and transfers between CaixaBank accounts, as well as locate nearby branches and ATMs.
The new CaixaBank application, called Línea Abierta BASIC, has been developed for Android devices. The bank said that the move was part of its exploration of using biometrics to enhance customer interaction with banking channels, and that further biometric features would be added to the app in future, such as fingerprint identification.
CaixaBank currently has more than 4 million mobile service customers, 3.4 million of which use the existing Línea Abierta application. Overall, the bank processes 120 million mobile transactions on a monthly basis, of which 33 per cent involve fund transfers.
