Barclaycard pushing PayTag

Barclaycard is using a mix of traditional and social media to promote PayTag, a sticker that enables contactless payments via mobile phones. The interactive campaign also involves the launch of a Toys Unleashed iPhone game.

A Christmas themed TV advertisement, which made its debut earlier this month, features a toy monkey called Mr B - voiced by James Corden – who comes to life to help a father pick a toy for his child. The ad ends with the dad buying the monkey by tapping his phone against a contactless reader.

Toys Unleashed, meanwhile, is a free download available from the Apple App store, featuring three characters from the campaign – Mr. B, Chomp and Mike. Users can use their phones to play with the animated characters who seemingly spring to life in the palm of their hands.

Barclaycard is also giving those who like its Facebook page the chance to win an iPhone 5. Further information on the campaign at: http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal/paytag
