New Bacs Android app launches

Bacs Payment Schemes (Bacs) has launched a Direct Debit Control Centre mobile app. This has been developed to make sure bill payers can stay on top of their regular automated bill payments.

The app, which is free to download and available in the Play Store, allows users to list all their Direct Debits together along with payment dates, amounts and details of what they’re for. Payment date reminders can also be set up making it easy for bill payers to ensure they have enough money in their account to cover the cost. The app also features a monthly overview screen, which instantly shows the total amount of Direct Debits in place for that month, together with a summary of how much is left to go out. Users can also group their Direct Debits into categories.

Mike Hutchinson, head of Bacs’ marketing, says: “We all need to keep on top of our finances, especially at this time of year when household budgets are really under pressure. Our new Android app provides peace of mind by allowing users to easily monitor their Direct Debit commitments and quickly access important financial information, wherever they are.”
