TreasurySpring taps Anthemis Group for new global head of partnerships

Investment platform TreasurySpring has appointed Tom Ryan as global head of partnerships.

Based in the firm’s New York office, Ryan will be tasked with driving the business’ global growth to take TreasurySpring “to the next level”, the firm said in a statement.

Ryan joins after serving eight years at venture capital investment firm Anthemis Group, where he was appointed partner in 2014. There, he focused on growth strategies for a diverse range of customers – from start-ups and venture capital firms to financial institutions.

Prior to this, the partnership specialist was head of ventures at media finance and venture investment company Archer Gray, where he was tasked with building the firm’s investment team , focusing on early-stage investments in marketplaces, digital content distribution, data, analytics and virtual reality.

He also led and co-led investments in a range of businesses, including Colony, Littlstar, Dealflicks, Vigour.io, TheTake.ai and Epic Magazine.

From 2006 to 2013, Ryan covered a range of senior positions at British bank Barclays. As head of marketing, proposition and web, brokerage division, he managed the planning and execution of marketing, web and product development the bank. He was also responsible for a £4.5 million marketing investment and a 14-member team.

His most recent position at the financial services institution was global head of electronic futures sales, leading sales and strategy for Barclays' electronic futures execution globally, including electronic execution revenues, technology and software developments, and client relationship management.
